Most of the action takes place at Hampton International, a well-known school to which the rich and powerful of the Indian capital send their children.

Dheeraj Kumar Valmiki (Piyush Khati), Saba Manzoor (Madhyama Segal) and Balli Sehrawat (Cwaayal Singh), three working-class transfer students, come to Hampton International on scholarships after their old school burns down.

Class: Is Hampton International a real school in Delhi?

No, the Hampton International School from “Class” doesn’t actually exist in Delhi. Although there is a Hampton International in Pak Kret, Thailand, it is a family-run preschool.

The students of “Elite” go to Las Encinas, another made-up institution. One of the series’ directors, Ashim Ahluwalia, explained in an interview why Delhi was chosen over other locations in India such as Mumbai, the country’s financial hub.

According to Ahluwalia, who spoke to Deadline, “I chose Delhi because the difference between the haves and have-nots is just so huge and is quite different from Mumbai as it is geographically separated.”

“Everyone in Mumbai somehow gets along. I went to a good school, but it was nothing compared to some of the wealthy schools in Delhi where students come to class accompanied by bodyguards.

Ahluwalia observed the class warfare on display in Class, even though she didn’t attend a super-exclusive school like Hampton International or Las Encinas as a teenager in south Mumbai. This experience influenced his decision to work on this project.

Since it’s a culture he’s familiar with, he explained, “I’ve always been interested in doing anything with kids, especially wealthy urban teenagers.”

“Even though the school I attended had many differences from the school depicted in Elite or this series, there were still elements of class struggle there.

Even though I had never thought about doing a series before, I felt like it would be fun to work on.

The fact that these adaptations often seem incomprehensible to Indian audiences is one of the strongest arguments against them. This is a common criticism of the content created by Netflix India.

Drawing attention to the injustice of such claims, Ahluwalia pointed out that Bollywood often creates a universe that is more fantasy than real.

The Netflix series Class forces you to examine society’s distorted mirror of how society sees you and how it treats its other members. Caste has plagued Indian society for centuries, and discrimination based on caste and class still exists today.

People from wealthy families still look down on people of other backgrounds and avoid making friends with them. Discrimination is so vile that impressionable little children are starting to pick up on it. They talk and walk like their elders.

The series, which is a remake of the Spanish Netflix original Elite, examines the differences in class and caste between three children from less affluent households and three children from extremely wealthy families as they enroll in the former’s school.

The privileged children find it strange to get along with the new kids, and everything at school gets out of hand.

The first episode of “Class” begins with a girl supposedly dying in an accident. Dheeraj, who is being questioned about his role in his classmate’s murder, is present at the crime scene. Dheeraj begins by recounting the events that led to his enrollment at Hampton International School.

South Delhi, where the rich and privileged congregate, is a far cry from Dheeraj, Saba and Balram’s home district of Nurpur. Dheeraj, Saba and Balram come from lower-middle class households and attend a school built by the Ahujas, a prominent family in the city’s real estate industry.

Due to the devastation caused by the fire that destroyed Dheeraj, Saba and Balram’s school, nicknamed Balli, Ahuja is covering the tuition fees and enrollment of the three students at Hampton International School.

Ahuja’s children also attend the same school. If the verdict goes against him, Ahuja will try to use this to lessen the punishment in the event of an accidental fire at the school. The children are also aware of Ahuja’s motives for carrying out this charity event.

High-achieving students Dheeraj, Saba and Balli could be closer to their goal of leaving their current lives behind if they were admitted to one of the city’s top institutions. They all realize that continuing their current lives will prevent them from achieving their goals.

They are aware that this is a non-profit organization, but this inclusion is still a unique opportunity. Saba wants to be a diplomat; Dheeraj wants to join IAS; Balram, called Balli, is happy with his existence as a social media influencer and hopes to become a supermodel one day.

Balli is the only one of the three who is neither ashamed of himself nor of who he is. Balli uses only rudimentary Delhi Hindi, which is a spectacle for the children of wealthy families who have never met a confident boy like Balli.

The aforementioned wealthy real estate developer’s children, Veer and Suhani Ahuja, are full of wealth, but Suhani doesn’t feel like a member of the family because she is always considered an outsider. Veer, on the other hand, occasionally shows arrogance and behaves like a good boy.

He tries to balance what he thinks he should do with his sister’s understanding and his parents’ approval. The kids in the class are all over fifteen, a raging hormonal swamp, and have no reason to worry about anything because of their parents’ wealth.

Yashika competes with Saba, a new student, for a scholarship she is vying for. On the other hand, Koel is dating Sharan, a classmate, and the two are an odd couple. Despite being physically attracted to Balli, Koel also seems unable to let go of Sharan.

One way to portray the lifestyle of the wealthy and unperturbed, who have nothing to lose in the long run since they have their parents’ money to fall back on, is attraction, lust and sexual contact with other people. These children are treated generously by their parents.

The only children who realize the value of money are Dheeraj, Saba and Balli as they grew up with the idea that money has to be earned.

The other main characters Suhani, Veer, Koel, Sharan, Yashika and Dhruv, who have already been introduced, are shocked to see academically gifted lower-middle class children attending their school.

The brunt of all the jokes about Dheeraj, Saba and Balli is that they are all aware that these three are charity cases. The three don’t mind the ridicule, as they understand that it comes with the territory and that their primary goal when they come to school is to study hard rather than make friends.

When he’s not at school, Dheeraj works as a waiter in his brother’s restaurant, and Saba helps her father with the accounting for the tailor shop that makes Kashmiri shawls. On the other hand, Balli is a popular influencer who organizes events and parties part-time.

Unlike the other students in their class, they lead their lives together. They have high goals, but their means of achieving them are not equally high. They bully the three new kids, but soon some of them like them and start hanging out with each one individually.

Class: Review

Dheeraj, Saba and Balli are not surprised by the classism displayed by the rich kids and their language, but they choose to ignore it. The school’s swimming coach and the principal are Dhruv’s parents. He competes with his father’s high expectations for him to win an Olympic medal.

Teenager Dhruv wants to be anything but a swimmer because he is frustrated. He feels himself losing control of his life as his father’s pressure increases. Balli, who is able to see through Dhruv and make him feel comfortable, and Dhruv start getting along.

A small-time drug dealer named Faruq is introduced to Dhruv from Balli. Dhruv understands that consuming narcotics allows him to relax and calm down while Faruq keeps him company.

Faruq and Balli help Dhruv calm down, even though he is new to using such substances. Veer is Dhruv’s closest friend, but he seems to have lost touch with him and is unable to communicate with him.

He becomes attracted to Faruq and starts searching for him on various social media accounts, which proves that Dhruv is gay. Dhruv is a student who is unable to share his feelings or sexual orientation with anyone close to him for fear of rejection. He keeps his passion for men to himself and doesn’t tell his best friend Veer about it.

Neeraj, a relative of Dheeraj, organized a protest against Ahuja to pressure the local authorities to file a case against this wealthy person. Neeraj is sure that Ahuja started the fire, which resulted in the deaths of many children.

His charitable work after the fire sparked much controversy, but it was just a front for damage management and his company’s public relations. However, Neeraj is upset that he is being imprisoned for inciting violence while at the same time being targeted for doing educational work.

The discrimination against Neeraj and Dheeraj based on their caste bothers Neeraj, the elder brother, more than Dheeraj.

Instead of engaging in caste-based conflicts that have never benefited anyone, Dheeraj believes that people should work hard in school and build their own reputation. Only diligent effort can lead someone to success. Neeraj intends to murder Ahuja to take revenge for the children’s deaths in the school fire.
