50 Cent is suing ex Daphne Joy for defamation after she publicly accuses him of rape and physical abuse
50 Cent has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex Daphne Joy after she accused the rapper of raping and abusing her.
According to the lawsuit obtained by Page Six, the “In da Club” rapper claims that the model accused him of harming her only because he filed for sole custody of their 11-year-old son Sire after she was found to be an alleged employee of Sean’s Diddy” Combs in lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, 50-year-old Curtis Jackson claims it was Joy Instagram post has over 22,000 likes, which has damaged his business reputation, led to a custody case, and exposed him to a deluge of online hate.
The 48-year-old “Many Men” singer attached a letter his lawyers sent to 37-year-old Joy on April 2, demanding that she delete the post and withdraw her statement.
However, the mother of one refused, and her lawyers allegedly demanded millions of dollars and an end to the custody battle in order to remove the child from Instagram.
50 calls these demands “clearly extortion.”
The “Power” creator is seeking more than $1 million in damages and an injunction for Joy to remove the post and refrain from making other defamatory comments about him.
Page Six reached out to Joy for comment but did not immediately hear back.
In a statement to Page Six’s attorney, Reena Jain, 50, said: “Despite the opportunity to withdraw her false and malicious accusations of retaliation, Ms. Narvaez shamefully chose to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely labeling him a ‘rapist’ “.
“The motivation appears to be Ms. Narvaez’s unfortunate entanglement and misguided allegiance to Mr. Combs, who we believe is sponsoring this attack and whom Mr. Jackson has been warning Ms. Narvaez and others about for many years.”
On March 28, Joy wrote a scathing message to 50.
“Let’s really focus on your really evil actions of raping me and abusing me,” she said at the time. “You are no longer my persecutor, and from now on my God will take care of you.”
Joy also sharply criticized parenting in the 1950s, writing that he only saw their son “10 times in 2 years” while they lived a mile away from him in New York.
“I’m tired of maintaining and protecting our son’s image that you never even earned,” she wrote.
In a statement to Page Six, the actor’s rep denied the “disturbing” allegations.
“Daphne Joy’s latest false and baseless accusations are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. “My son Sire is my top priority and my sole focus at this time is providing him with a safe environment,” the statement read.
Joy was named as one of three women who allegedly provided sexual services to Combs, 54, in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.
According to a lawsuit obtained by Page Six, Jones claimed that the Bad Boy Records founder “bragged” about paying a “monthly stipend” to women for alleged sex work.
Joy denied the allegations on Instagram, calling them “100% lies and character assassination.”
50 and Joy dated from 2011 to 2012, and broke up a few months after the birth of their son.
