Prince Harry was excited to reunite with Princess Diana’s family members at the Invictus Games celebrations after being rejected by his father and brother, sources tell Page Six.

Earl Spencer famously exposed the sharp divide between the Spencers and the royal family at Diana’s funeral in September 1997, when he said that Diana’s siblings would watch over Harry and William.

Harry remained close to his Spencer side of the family despite moving to the United States.

Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were photographed alongside Charles and Camilla, William and Kate Middleton at Prince Archie’s christening in July 2019.

They are also believed to have been present at the baptism of Princess Lilibet in Montecito in May 2023.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle visited Althorp, Diana’s childhood home, in September 2022 while in the UK following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

They spent time there with their aunt and uncle and visited Diana’s resting place, which is located on an island on the estate.

Meanwhile, Harry was also joined by a group of old friends at the Invictus event, including former army officer Mark Dyer, who mentored the prince.

The fifth in line to the throne has not been in Britain since February, when he met Charles just 30 minutes after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer. He and his wife will travel to Nigeria on their own version of a state visit, landing in the African country on Friday.
