They Weathered their relationship for as long as they could.
Creed frontman Scott Stapp and his beauty queen wife Jaclyn will be divorcing after 18 years of marriage, and the band will reunite for a tour for the first time in over a decade.
“Out of respect for his family, Scott intends to navigate this difficult time privately,” Rep. Stapp he told People.
The split comes years after Jaclyn originally filed for divorce from the rocker in June 2022, according to court records reviewed by Page Six.
Jaclyn’s submission was soon withdrawn, but the rocker followed suit in May 2023.
“Scott and Jaclyn thought the marriage was over but were still trying to fix it,” the source said.
TMZ was the first to report the split.
The couple has three children: 17-year-old daughter Mia, 13-year-old Daniel and 6-year-old Anthony.
The rocker also has son Jagger, 25, with his first wife Hilaree Burns.
The representative added that the couple’s children are a priority in the divorce process.
Jaclyn “faced a long battle in her relationship with Scott, and even though she never imagined she would one day divorce him, she decided to leave,” the model’s rep said.
Stapp, 50, and Jaclyn, 43, first met in 2006 at a gala for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in New York. They married later that year.
The “One Last Breath” singer recently shared how his wife and children helped him learn what his family was going through after a difficult childhood.
“I’ve never had a family like this. They really showed me what family is all about, how you can support each other and stick together.” Stapp told People in March. “It’s definitely something that has influenced me and learned from it, and I hope we can continue to do that in our lives, regardless of how the story goes.”
Stapp then shared how the ups and downs in his relationships gave him a new perspective on life.
“Relationships teach you many things, good and bad, and I have learned that no matter how they end or how they continue, every stage of every season of a relationship is certainly a learning experience,” he said. “You have to look back at it as such, no matter what, and you have to change it. Reframing it, no matter what, accelerates your growth and helps you become a better person and a better partner.”
Stapp was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2015 after abusing prescription drugs, alcohol and marijuana.
“I had a psychotic break,” Stapp told People. “I was delusional. I thought an angel was sitting on the hood of my car. I grew a beard to look like Jesus. I threatened to have the Secret Service knock on my door. My behavior has become dangerous.”
Jaclyn noticed that her husband needed help. “I watched him die a slow, painful public death,” she said. “And I was terrified.”
The divorce comes as the post-grunge rock band prepares for a tour dubbed “Summer of ’99” and “Are You Ready?” tour starting in July and lasting until December.
During their first tour since 2012, the group will stop in 60 cities in the USA and Canada.
