Fans notice a subtle reference to Matty Healy in Taylor Swift’s new Eras Tour setlist
Fans think Taylor Swift has almost confirmed that Matty Healy is in fact “The smallest man who ever lived.”
On Thursday, Swift kicked off the European leg of her Eras Tour in Paris with an all-new installment of the show dedicated to “Department of Tortured Poets,” which premiered last month.
While the Grammy winner sang “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” – which is rumored to be about The 1975 frontman – eagle-eyed Swifties noted that her choreography bore a striking resemblance to Healy’s stage skills.
Once Swift strapped herself to the bridge, she began marching in place before saluting the crowd – a move Healy often performs while performing “Love It If We Made It.”
“Taylor Swift marches in the smallest man that ever lived at Eras concert in Paris and Matty Healy marches in delight if we make it” – one fan wrote on X next to both performances.
The user also noted that the “lighting” and “colors” used in Swift’s performance were eerily similar to the set design of The 1975.
“Am I allowed to be Taylor Swift marching with a marching band to ‘The Littlest Man Who Ever Lived’ to directly make fun of Matty Healey’s trifling level or not?” another fan he asked sarcastically.
Although Swift and Healy were first linked more than a decade ago, they didn’t publicly date until last year – shortly after the “Cruel Summer” singer’s split from 33-year-old Joe Alwyn.
However, the duo were only together for about a month after backlash to the numerous controversies surrounding the “About You” singer.
The “Karma” hitmaker, 34, apparently addressed people’s negative opinions about her date with Healy on “But Daddy I Love Him,” which she also appeared in for the first time on Thursday night.

In the hit song, Swift sings about being punished for being with someone she loves.
Although Swifties have pointed out several other songs from “TTPD” that they believe involve Healy, the rocker recently told paparazzi that he hasn’t listened to the new album.
“I haven’t listened to it much, but I’m sure it’s good,” the 35-year-old English singer-songwriter said when asked about songs that “dissed” him.
However, an insider later he told Us Weekly. that Healy wasn’t happy that his romance with Swift was back in the headlines thanks to a record-breaking album.
“Matty feels uncomfortable with the renewed attention being drawn to his relationship [with Taylor] — especially because it is [with someone] new,” the outlet’s source said.
Healy started dating model Gabbriette Bechtel in September 2023, three months after his split from Swift.
That same month, the “Fortnight” singer and Travis Kelce went public with their romance.
