Miranda Cosgrove is still trying to overcome the fear of a terrible stalking incident she experienced almost a decade ago.

“That’s another reason why I go to my parents’ house so often,” the former Nickelodeon star he admitted in an interview with Bustle Friday. “I just don’t feel super safe in this house.”

Eight years ago, Cosgrove, now 30, was stalked by a man who reportedly set himself on fire and fatally shot himself in her backyard.

“I just don’t feel super safe in this house,” she told Bustle.

But before he took his own life, he shot at a woman who was driving by the “iCarly” alum’s house – thinking she was the actress.

“For two years after what happened, I didn’t really want to stay there,” Cosgrove admitted.

“Then I started a relationship and because this person was there for me, I was less afraid. But I don’t really like being there alone.

The “Leave It All to Me” singer said that years later at an event at Kitten Rescue in Los Angeles, a woman who had been mistakenly shot approached her and said, “I didn’t know if I should tell you this here and how to do it. say this, but I’m actually the girl who was shot at in your house.

“He seemed to process everything the same way I did,” Cosgrove reflected.

Cosgrove’s stalker was lurking around her neighborhood, trying to find her.
The man reportedly shot his neighbor, thinking it was Cosgrove.

The “Drake & Josh” actress said she’s set a “huge goal” for herself: to find a place where she feels “really safe” to “kind of start a new chapter” — but she hasn’t found it yet.

Even though Cosgrove suffered from some of the industry’s downsides, she was able to live a pretty healthy life for the most part.

Last December, the “Mother of the Bride” star revealed that she had never been drunk or smoked in her life.

Cosgrove told the “Good Guys” podcast at the time: “I think it started because I was always the designated driver when I went out with my friends. I kind of enjoyed playing that role, got used to it and just kind of stuck with it forever.”
