He is still with her.
Courteney Cox gushed about her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry while celebrating the 20th anniversary of the hit comedy series’ finale.
“I am grateful to have worked so closely with him for so many years. If we believe in it, he visits me often” – actress, 59, he said in an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning” published on Sunday.
Cox, who played Monica Gellar alongside Perry’s Chandler Bing for 10 seasons, opened up more about her spirituality.
“I’m talking to my mom, dad and Matthew. “I feel like there are a lot of people who I think guide us,” she explained.
“I sense – I definitely sense Matthew is nearby.”
On October 28, 2023, at the age of 54, Perry was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades, California.
In December, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said the actor died of “acute ketamine exposure.” The manner of death was accidental.
The autopsy also revealed drowning, coronary artery disease and the opioid buprenorphine as the causes of his death.
Days after his tragic death, the cast of Friends – including Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow – released a statement expressing their sadness at the news.
“We are all absolutely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are family,” they wrote.
“Over time, we will say more if we are able,” they added. “For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Cox later paid tribute to Perry on Instagram in November, posting a clip from one of their many scenes together on “Friends.”
“I am so grateful for every moment I spent with you, Matty, and I miss you every day,” the actress wrote. “When you work with someone as closely as I do with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I want to share.”
She added: “In this scene, before we started filming, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like this. He was funny and nice.”
