Sean Kingston arrested after police raid on fraud and theft charges

Sean Kingston was arrested without incident Thursday in California after police raided his Florida home earlier in the day.
The “Beautiful Girls” singer – born Kisean Paul Anderson – was arrested near Fort Irwin, a military base about 250 miles northeast of Los Angeles, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on numerous fraud and theft charges.
Kingston, 34, will be booked into a prison in San Bernardino, California, according to a public information officer.
Representatives for the Jamaican artist did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment following his arrest.
Dania Beach District detectives, the Strategic Investigations Unit and a police SWAT team raided Kingston’s South Florida home on Thursday morning after an investigation led to the discovery of the musician’s 14,000-square-foot residence in Southwest Ranches.
Although the “Take You There” recording artist was not present at the time of the raid, his 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on fraud and theft charges.
Kingston later addressed the incident on social media on Thursday afternoon.
“People love negative energy!” – he wrote in his Instagram story. “I’m good and so is my mother! …my lawyers are handling everything at the moment.”
The “Fire Burning” singer’s arrest is reportedly related to his ongoing legal battle with Ver Ver Entertainment, which sued him in February for unpaid fees related to the sale and installation of a 232-inch television.
“Basically, he has a sales pitch that he uses to scam people,” company attorney Dennis Card told Local 10 News on Thursday.
“He gets them to give him really expensive things. … This is an organized, systematic fraud.”
