Amanda K. Fletcher, 37, in zoom class allegedly performed the ‘inappropriate sexual act’ in front of students at the Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering during a class on September 30 last year.

According to the report Amanda “appeared to suck an unidentified topless man’s nipple” as she “spun” or “rocked back and forth”, during zoom class. After removing her mouth from the man’s chest she resumed teaching and discussed the worksheet with the students just 12 minutes before the class ends this inappropriate action she took. Students were in shock and recorded the whole scene, post it on different social media like Snapchat and Facebook. This her second inappropriate incident while taking the class. Before that students saw her eating spaghetti with the shirtless man behind her in October 2020.

Amanda K. Fletcher was a 37-year-old Spanish teacher at the Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering. According to her LinkedIn profile, she studied at DePaux University, a private college in Indiana, and at Hunter College, a part of the City University of New York (CUNY), and has been a Spanish teacher within the city of the department of education since 2007. The New York Post reported she taught at the Morningside Heights campus since September 2018. The school is one of the highest performings in the city which serves students in 6th to 12th grades. The secondary school ranks 203rd nationally among secondary schools and 24th in New York.

Investigation and Action Against Amanda K. Fletcher
The SCI told DOE to take action and trained the teacher for appropriate action in class. they should follow the same protocol during virtual class as face to face classroom
Teachers “must exclude participants who are not in the classroom from showing up” during classes, and must not engage in “eating or snacking; smoking, vaping, or otherwise using tobacco; and any other activity that may prevent an educator from maintaining full focus in the classroom. ”
Filson said DOE imposed digital media guidelines for remote learning in march 2020 in which reminded school staff to follow the same protocol of face-to-face classroom.
Amanda’s act is unacceptable and inappropriate. According to the reports she declined to respond and gave no explanation about her alleged behavior and even declined for interviewed by SCI Investigators. She also does not respond to social media messages post. Maybe she did not realize that the camera was still on that time during her awkward act.
She was ‘reassigned’ after completing its investigation last October, and She made $ 105,588 last year, remains on the city’s payroll.
Filson told the NY Post it will pursue disciplinary action against her.
