Bertie Auld (born 23rd March 1938) was a former Scottish football player and manager. Let us tell you that he was a member of the Lisbon Lions team of the Celtics, which won the 1967 European Cup final. As we know that, he has played over 200 times in the Scottish League for the Celtics, Dumbarton and Hibernians and over 100 times in the English Football League in Birmingham as a player. Early in his career, he also won three games for Scotland. He was also noted as the former manager of Partick Thistle, where he spent six seasons and was still highly respected and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame. He also held management positions at Hibernian, Hamilton Academics and Dumbarton.

Auld was born in Mary Hill, Glasgow. He first joined the Celtics in March 1955 from local team Maryhill Harp, where he changed from a full back to a winger. However, his stubborn character and poor discipline hindered his progress. After a season on loan at Dumbarton, he was sold to Birmingham City in 1961 for £15,000.
In 1963, he won a League Cup medal at the Midlands club and played in the 1960–61 Intercity Fair Cup final. Birmingham 4-2 to AS. In the 1965 Rome final, Alder returned to the Celtics for £12,000, probably at the leadership of Jock Stein, who has not yet been selected as the head coach of the Celtics.

After the Celtics announced that the club legend and Lisbon Lion had been diagnosed with dementia, people paid tribute to Bertie Auld. Celtics Football Club on Thursday published a brief statement affirming the 83-year-old’s diagnosis and paying tribute to the “real idol”.
