Aaron Carter was suspected of driving while under the influence of just three days before he was found dead at his California home.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ earlier this week that the 34-year-old singer of “Aaron’s Party” – who was previously arrested for drunk driving in 2017 – was stopped by the cops Tuesday morning after reports that he was carelessly driving a recreational vehicle.

Carter was cleared after field officers passed sobriety tests.

“It is with great regret to confirm that Aaron Carter did not respond to this message at his home in Palmdale, California,” his representative, Page Six, said in a statement on Saturday. “The family has been notified and is flying to Los Angeles. The cause of Carter’s death is currently unknown.

Singing “I Want Candy” struggled with drug addiction his entire life, and entered an outpatient rehabilitation program in September after losing custody of his young son, Prince, whom he shared again with his fiancée, Melanie Martin.
