Actor Eugenio Derbez will undergo “very complicated” surgery after the accident
Actor Eugenio Derbez is due to undergo “very complicated” surgery following an accident in recent days, his wife announced.
In joint post on Instagramactress and singer Alessandra Rosaldo informed the concerned fans about her husband’s upcoming surgery, but remained silent about the accident in which he was involved.
“He’s fine, but the injuries are subtle and he will have to undergo surgery in the next few hours,” the Mexican soap opera star wrote in a statement to more than 24 million joint supporters.
The 60-year-old Mexican-born actor recently appeared on the Apple TV + comedy series “Acapulco” after starring in this year’s edition of the Academy Award-winning “CODA”.
Derbez is best known for starring in the most popular Spanish-language TV shows of all time, including “Al Derecho y Al Derbez”, “XHDRBZ” and “La Familia P. Luche”.
“The operation is very complicated, but it does not endanger his health,” his wife announced in Spanish.
“The recovery process is going to be long and difficult as he will have to rest for several weeks and then undergo rehabilitation treatments.”
In her statement, Rosaldo said it was important for them to share the news on their own terms.
“I have some professional commitments to fulfill that I cannot cancel, but I am asking all of you with great love that whatever you would like to know about this, let me pass it on through my social networks,” she wrote. “Eugenio will be recovering and perhaps be away from his social networks and media for a while.”
“Thank you for always being close to us,” she continued, adding, “I know that thanks to the good energy you will all send us, Eugenio will recover soon by the grace of God.”
