Busey was charged on Friday with two cases of criminal sexual contact; one incident of attempted crime / criminal sexual contact; and one case of harassment.

Website Conventional scene noted his presence at this six-month event, saying: “We are VERY excited to welcome GARY BUSEY back to MONSTER-MANIA CON after a very long absence! GARY BUSEY will attend MONSTER-MANIA CON 50 on the weekend AUGUST 12-14 in CHERRY HILL, NJ! ”

The site claims that Busey was known, among other things, for his role as Uncle Red in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s story about werewolves “Silver Bullet” from 1985.

Busey, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Buddy Holly in the 1978 movie “The Buddy Holly Story,” suffered brain damage following an almost fatal motorcycle accident in 1988.

Busey representatives did not immediately ask for comment.

Information on bail and any court appearances was not immediately available.

Police said an investigation was ongoing and anyone with information should call the department.
