Adele reveals the correct way to pronounce her name
Hello, that’s uh-dale.
Adele has revealed that most people pronounce her name incorrectly – and fans are completely blown away by her explanation.
The singer praised a London fan for correctly pronouncing her name, while also asking questions about her songwriting during Q&A to celebrate the release of her music video “I Drink Wine” last week.
“I love it,” 34-year-old Adele told a fan, adding, “She said my name perfectly!”
The Grammy winner herself pronounced her name to the audience, explaining that she even had to give an explanation to the moderator.
Apparently, the correct way to say Adele’s name is “uh-dale” as opposed to the more common pronunciation of “uh-del”.
Fans were shocked by the correction and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Adele cares a lot about her name, especially considering she gave up using her last name because she didn’t like what it sounded like.
“I could never use my last name” said YouTuber NikkieTutorials in December 2021, when she discussed why she only uses her first name. “Adele Adkins does not have the same ring as Adele.”
“Easy on Me” singer added that she felt her last name was “dirty” but admitted that “Adele still feels like my name” even after she became famous.
“My mom still calls me that. My friends call me that, ”she added.
Adele has been busy getting ready for the head of the Las Vegas mansion while taking her boyfriend Rich Paul seriously. She recently revealed her plan to earn a university degree after completing her performances in Sin City.
