Adrienne Bailon explains why she hid news about her baby

Adrienne Bailon had the perfect reason for keeping the news of the baby a secret from friends, family and fans – her sanity.
The former “Cheetah Girls” star – who had secretly welcomed her son Ever James earlier this month – said that after finding out her surrogate was pregnant, she delivered the exciting news to only six people in an attempt to contain her anxiety.
“It was important to me to my mental wellbeing and to my family,” said 38-year-old Bailon People. “I thought,” I’m just not gonna say anything. ” It was very peaceful this way. You didn’t have other people’s opinion.
While the former talk show host wanted to share the happy news with her friends and viewers, she managed to keep a secret for nine months.
“Honestly, everyone was shocked,” she said. “Even my sister, who watched The Real all last season, literally told me,” Adrienne, I’m impressed. ” She says, “I’m so proud of you. You really hold it. I did it because it was really sacred to me. “
After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the actress was finally able to emotionally share a big secret with the world Instagram post.
“Our little boy is here and we are so in love!” Bailon wrote next to a black and white photo of a family of three.
“We have been praying silently over this greatest secret for the past nine months,” she continued. “It’s worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything.”
Fans and supporters of the new mom – including Khloé Kardashian, her ex-sister-in-law – quickly congratulated the singer on the surprising news.
Bailon and her husband Israel Houghton welcomed their son during the delivery at home in Airbnb in Lake Tahoe, California.
She described the day as “amazing” after going through a very “nerve-strenuous” process of surrogacy.
“Someone else has your baby with them. We call it extreme babysitting for nine months. It can make you really anxious, ”she told the paper, adding that it was just another reason she chose to remain private.
“I feel like people are asking me, ‘How is everything going?’ It made me a lot more anxious so I just wanted to have some peace and some joy that I could keep to myself each day and something to wait for.
Bailon and Houghton decided to try surrogacy after the actress underwent eight failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles and one miscarriage.
She has been very open about her journey of infertility through the years, trying to help other women going through the same.
Although the couple took advantage of surrogacy during their recent pregnancy, Bailon did not lose hope of re-enlarging the family.
“It’s my biggest dream,” said People. “I’m not giving up on this dream. Maybe someday I will bear and I can’t wait. I still hope for it.
