Alex Rodriguez sends Jennifer Lopez her “best” after marriage
Alex Rodriguez still loves Jennifer Lopez.
The retired athlete shared his support for the singer and ex-fiancé after her marriage to Ben Affleck.
“With Jennifer, look, it was a good experience,” said the former MLB player on Friday’s episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” when asked about her marrying an actor after their breakup in 2021.
“I wish her and the children who are smart, beautiful and wonderful – I wish them all the best,” continues Rodriguez, father of the daughters Natasha (17) and Ella (14). twins, Emme and Maksymilian.
“I’d say I’m glad I would never be a presidential candidate because you’d hit me,” he concluded jokingly.
Rodriguez began dating the singer of “Let’s Get Loud” in 2017, and two years later he got down on one knee.
As the couple planned their wedding and reunited their families, they finally called it ending in March 2021.
Lopez then moved in with Affleck, whom she was previously engaged to in 2002.
The Oscar winner proposed again in April, and Lopez spoke about this turning point in her newsletter.
“On Saturday evening, in my favorite place on earth (in a bubble bath), my beautiful sweetheart knelt down and proposed,” wrote the songwriter. “I was literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that true?’ I said “YES, of course it’s YES.”
In July, she and her friend from Gigli got married in Las Vegas. Their second wedding the following month was in Georgia, with family members and friends.
Casey Affleck in particular did not attend his brother’s wedding and was instead spotted taking his son to football and grabbing ice cream.
However, the star of “Manchester By the Sea” wrote a sweetness Tribute on Instagram Lopez in his absence.
“Here are twists, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love,” wrote Casey. “Welcome to the family. Prepare to be truly dysfunctional! Just kidding. Just kidding.”
As for Rodriguez, he is currently single after parting ways with model Kathryne Padgett in September.
The former New York Yankees player spoke frankly about his past with Lopez, going on “Marta Stewart Show” in July that he “did not regret” their affair.
Rodriguez explained, “She is the most gifted human being I’ve ever had. The hardest worker. And I think she is the best… living artist in the world ”.
