All I Know About Love Fashion is the peak of indie badass

All I know about love it’s not just a love letter to friendship, it’s also an ode to the very specific time period it’s set in: 2012.

Based on the series Peacock Dolly AldertonThe bestselling memoir of the same name tells the story of Maggie’s best childhood friend (Emma Appleton) and Bird (Bel Powley) when they move into their first London flat with their two college friends, Nell (Marley Siu) and Amara (Alia Odoffin). One of the biggest aesthetic trends of the time was the “indie lich,” a fashion era characterized by skinny jeans, smudged eyeliner, cropped leather jackets, beanies, and just about anything American Apparel. For Appleton, putting it all on All I know about love was a “blast from the past.”

“I had really iconic pieces, like American Apparel disco pants,” she told E! News in an exclusive interview. “I put them on and thought, ‘You know what? I would wear them again.”
