Ana de Armas comes into shape.
During the world premiere of her upcoming Marilyn Monroe movie “Blonde” at Thursday’s Venice Film Festival, the actress stunned in a plunged pink Louis Vuitton gown that resembled one of Monroe’s most memorable styles.
With a neckline and flowing pleated skirt, de Armasa’s dress was similar in style to the iconic white dress that platinum-haired Hollywood bombshell wore on-screen in 1955’s The Seven Year Itch.
Meanwhile, the pink shade seemed to pay tribute to Monroe’s 1953 movie “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” – and de Armas, with her accessory selection, made the full “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
She combined a Messica “Firebird” necklace, which includes a 5 carat cushion cut stone in the center and 100 marquise cut diamonds forming “wings”, with an equally shiny diamond bracelet from the same jeweler.
On Wednesday also de Armas seemed to be paying a subtle homage to Monroe with her festival outfit: a Louis Vuitton sailor jacket paired with a slim fit high waisted shorts, a favorite silhouette of the late screen star.
Based on Joyce Carol Oates’ best-selling book “Blonde” will carry the controversial NC-17 rating and watch de Armas slip into some of Monroe’s most beloved looks, including two that seemed to relate to her premiere outfit.
The actress “Knives Out” said she practiced Monroe’s accent daily for three hours in preparation for the role, and even wore a bald head every day to keep her own brunettes from being seen under a lot of blonde wigs.
Biography hits Netflix on September 28.
