Ankita Lokhande Jain is an Indian actress who made her debut in the award-winning role of Pavitra Rishta in Zee TV’s daily show Pavitra Rishta, produced by Balaji Telefilms and starring Ankita Lokhande Jain. Before leaving television to pursue a film career in 2018, she was consistently one of the highest paid actresses in the industry. Additionally, you may recognize Lokhande from her roles in the Bollywood films Baaghi 3 and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Early life and career (1984–2005)

Her mother, Vandana Phadnis Lokhande, was a teacher and her father, Shashikant Lokhande, was a businessman. Lokhande was born into a Marathi family on December 19, 1984 in Indore, India.

She also has a sister named Jyoti and two brothers named Sooraj and Arun. Immediately after graduating, she moved to Mumbai in 2005 to pursue an acting career.

Rise to fame and personal life (2009–2016)

Lokhande landed the lead role of Archana in Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap Pavitra Rishta after taking part in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj (2004–2005). The competition was hosted in India (2009–14).

She was a contestant on the fourth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as well as the comedy show Comedy Circus and also appeared in an episode of Ek Thi Naayka.

Pavitra Rishta skipped a generation in 2013, and from that year until the end of the series in 2014, Lokhande played both Archana and Archana’s granddaughter, Ankita. She then returned to her role as Archana.

Pavitra Rishta’s co-stars Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput started dating in 2010 and Rajput proposed to her on the fourth season of dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaja. After a two-year hiatus from acting and the end of her relationship with Sushant Rajput, there were rumors that Ankita Lokhande would make her film debut in the historical drama Padmaavat, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali (2018). Despite this, she abandoned the film, citing that she was not yet prepared for the big screen.

The next year, rumors circulated that she had been cast in Girish Malik’s upcoming film Torbaaz, which also starred Sanjay Dutt. In 2018, she announced that she would play the role of warrior Jhalkaribai in Krish and Kangana Ranaut’s joint directorial project Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, an epic drama based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai. The film premiered in theaters on the eve of Republic Day 2019 and was a major financial success at the box office, the director’s first major financial success.

Next, Lokhande played the role of Kapoor’s older sister, who is married to Deshmukh’s character, alongside Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in Sajid Nadiadwala’s action-packed production Baaghi 3 (2020), the third installment in the Baaghi trilogy. Baaghi 3 is the third part of the Baaghi trilogy. The film was released before cinemas in India had to close due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which contributed to the picture’s poor performance at the box office.

In 2021, she appeared alongside Shaheer Sheikh in the web series Pavitra Rishta 2.0, where she again played the role of Archana.

Marriage and Onward (2021–present)

In 2019, she announced that she was dating businessman Vicky Jain. They tied the knot on December 14, 2021 in the city of Mumbai. She and her husband Vicky Jain competed on StarPlus’ Smart Jodi in February 2022 and placed first in the competition’s inaugural season.
