He was Melbourne captain from 1991 to 1997. He was the club’s longest serving captain until the end of the 1997 season, when the club let him go because they thought he would be injured too often.

Nicky Brownless is Garry Lyon’s partner and they’ve been together for a long time
In 2016, Garry and his girlfriend Nicky, the ex-wife of his close friend and former co-host of The Footy Show, Billy Brownless, went public with their relationship. After the first round of bad news stories, the pair have kept a low profile and are rarely seen together in public.
Billy also mentioned that Garry and Nicky may have been dating in secret for a long time. He said on The AFL Footy Show that he knew they were friends a few months before the public did. Later he asked Garry and Nicky what was going on, and they said they were just good friends, but now they were a couple.
Nicky and Garry looked more in love than ever when they recently appeared at the Australian Open. At Melbourne Park, the former AFL star gently put his arm over Nicky’s shoulder to show how well they got along.
Garry looked great in shorts and a dark linen shirt. He wore suede loafers and sunglasses to keep his eyes from getting too bright. On the other hand, Nicky looked gorgeous in a red patterned dress and red strappy sandals. She added a beige crossbody bag to her outfit and wore her long blonde hair straight and loose.
Billy Brownless used to be married to Nicky Brownless
Nicky and her husband Billy had a happy marriage, but got divorced in 2015. It had been 18 years since they got married.
About a year after their divorce, it was revealed that Nicky was dating Billy’s close friend and former AFL player Garry Lyon. This led to rumors that they were having an affair.
Nicky has said she left her ex-husband Billy for his best friend Garry Lyon. It’s been five years since she and Billy broke up, and the story even made the front page of the Victoria newspaper.
After the affair, Garry Lyon and Billy Brownless weren’t as close as they used to be.
Gary Lyon and Billy had been good friends for a long time and worked together on The Footy Show. But everything fell apart after he had an affair with Billy’s wife.
In 2016, during a live interview on The Footy Show, Billy talked about his relationship with Garry. When he first heard the news, he was angry, but soon became sad. He also said that while what they are doing is legal, it is morally wrong.
Similarly, Brownless has talked about how he is currently dating Lyons. Billy said in Sam Newman’s podcast You Cannot Be Serious that the two people who used to be friends are now doing well.
He also said that he felt a lot of different things at the time, but after four or five years he had changed and everyone was happy.
Brownless said the first few years were difficult because his four children were still young. He also said that the news was so well known that it was the main problem. Everyone would stare and talk about it when he entered a coffee shop.
In 2016, Garry Lyon broke up with his wife, Melissa Lyon
Gary broke up with Melissa before telling Nicky about his relationship with her. Even though they had told him they were just friends, she still felt betrayed.
Melissa has spoken out for the first time since finding out her footballer husband was having an affair with his best friend’s wife. This news broke her marriage.
She also said that after finding out, she was sad for a while. It went well, because she thought it was all over. She thought they knew chaos was coming. But they decided to continue. Melissa also says it makes her sad to think of the two of them together.

Lyon’s career came to an end when he won two “Best and Fairest” awards in Melbourne and was named to three “All-Australian” teams. His career ended as his back problems got worse. His 1987 season was over because he broke his leg. Footage of this is often shown on The AFL Footy Show. He ended up playing in 226 VFL/AFL games and scoring 426 goals in 1999, making him the third best Melbourne player of all time.
