Camilla cancels the interview due to Queen Elizabeth’s health concerns
Camilla Parker Bowles suddenly canceled her “Today” interview with Jenna Bush Hager on Thursday morning and “rushed” to be with Queen Elizabeth II BalmoralScotland, among health problems.
“We’re here at Dumfries House, which is located in the South East of Scotland,” said 40-year-old Bush Hager in an emotional update away from home. “I was invited here to sit with Her Royal Highness, Camilla.”
A correspondent for Today explained that she was “just hours” away from the interview when the Duchess of Cornwall and her husband Prince Charles “set off to see Her Majesty at Balmoral.”
“It’s not something they do lightly. They have schedules full of events for philanthropy, ”explained Bush Hager.
“Our interview was just one of the many things the Duchess had on her calendar today, so we know from the Palace that this is not something they would do lightly.”
Bush Hager added emotionally that “all of the United Kingdom is thinking of the Queen” and there is definitely “a gloomy feeling in Scotland today.”
“I had to spend some time yesterday evening with his royal highness, Prince Charles,” explained Bush Hager, although it is uncertain whether this chat was filmed or will be released.
Bush Hager, who may refer to the royal family after the death of her grandfather President George HW Bush in 2018, said she knows that “public mourning is very difficult.”
“Their thoughts are with their mother,” she concluded. “She is the queen of the world and is his beloved mother to him.”
Parker Bowles, who would in due course become “Queen Wife”, would talk to “Today” about her “reading initiatives.”
Prince Charles and Parker Bowles are among many other members of the royal family who are now at the side of the 96-year-old Queen, including Prince William, Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and Prince Andrew.
Prince Harry is currently on his way, although page six has confirmed that his wife, Meghan Markle, will not be joining the family right away.
Meanwhile, William’s wife, Kate Middleton, will stay home as their three children start school on Wednesday.
As reported by Page Six on Thursday morning, Buckingham Palace issued a statement disclosure that the queen has been placed under “medical supervision” but “remains comfortable”.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned about Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision,” the statement said.
73-year-old Karol is next in the line of succession.
