Renowned chef Carla Hall does not mix culinary business with pleasure.

When asked if she serves discounted meals to family and friends, the answer was emphatically no, because that only causes problems.

“I don’t offer it. I’m very direct,” she told Page Six. “I could choose your cereal – but that’s all we do. I’ve had friends ask me to do parties and I’ve said, “I’m not going to do that because there’s going to be a grudge.” So I don’t want to resent the job – and then our friendship suffers,” she told Page Six.

The former contestant and author of “Top Chef” is known for her delicious snacks. The 58-year-old told us about her highly coveted job: “I throw parties for my friends, but I only have a small group of close friends or acquaintances … my real friends who really love and support me don’t ask me for such favors because they value my time .

Hall appeared in two seasons of “Top Chef” on Bravo. She also co-hosted The Chew, which debuted on ABC in 2011.

I am [now] 162, which is the most I’ve ever weighed in my life!”
