Celebrities are paying tribute to late KTLA reporter Sam Rubin following his death

Hollywood is mourning the death of beloved entertainment journalist Sam Rubin.

After this information was confirmed, on Friday the stars took to social media to commemorate the deceased KTLA reporter he died of a heart attack earlier that day. He was 64 years old.

“It’s very sad that we lost Sam Rubin” – Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer wrote by X Friday. “It was always a pleasure to see him and be in his presence. My condolences to his family and fans.”

Ben Stiller – he also said on the platform“Very sad and sorry to hear of the passing of Sam Rubin.

“An excellent professional. I first interviewed him around 1993 and countless times over the years. He loved actors and movies.

Stiller, 58, noted that Rubin “made everyone feel comfortable” and interviewing him was “always easy and enjoyable.”

The Meet the Parents star concluded: “He was an institution. We lost him far too soon. Sending love to my family. 💙”

Marlee Matlin added via X“I am shocked and saddened by the news of Sam Rubin’s untimely death. If you look at the word “nice” you will see a picture of it. RIP, Sam… I will definitely miss you.

Richard Simmons, who has led a very private life in recent years, even spoke out about Rubin’s death.

“I’m so sorry that my friend Sam Rubin went to heaven” – famous exercise instructor wrote by X.

“I have known him for several decades. He was always interested in my projects and always laughed at my stupid jokes. “Sam, you will be missed…I love you, Richard Simmons.”

Singer Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray too took to X to share their condolences, writing: “It is truly heartbreaking to hear of the death of Sam Rubin on KTLA’s morning news. He made my mornings, my team and I, more interesting and fun than they deserved… Thank you Sam, rest easy.”

Jerry O’Connell, who considered Rubin a personal friend, sent the screenshot via X moment when he appeared on the KTLA Morning News with the longtime reporter.

The “Talk” alum wrote alongside: “Rubin himself was a LEGEND. Rest in peace, KING.”

O’Connell, 50, also took a moment to call KTLA, which aired a lengthy segment live in honor of their late colleague.

Actors Henry Winkler and Sheryl Lee Ralph also stopped by to pay their respects. The latter praised Rubin for “taking the time” to get to know the interviewees, adding: “Those mornings will never be the same again.”

Shortly after, KTLA released a statement regarding Rubin’s death on Friday TMZ broke the news.

“KTLA 5 is deeply saddened to report the death of Sam Rubin,” the news station he said through X Friday.

“Sam was a giant of the local news industry and entertainment world, and for decades he was a regular on morning television in Los Angeles.”

Rubin continued the statement: “His laugh, charm and caring personality touched all who knew him. Sam was a loving husband and father: roles he valued the most. Our thoughts are with Sam’s family at this difficult time.”

Rubin’s death comes as a shock because he was on the air for work on Thursday interviews actress Jane Seymour at a news bureau.

However, KTLA said he called in sick Friday morning because he wasn’t feeling well.

He reportedly went into cardiac arrest at his home and was taken to UCLA West Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rubin is survived by his wife, Leslie Rubin, and four children.
