Celibate ejaculation was “disappointing”
Orgasming after more than a year of celibacy was “terribly disappointing” for Steve-O.
The Jackass star talks about his sexual addiction in his new diary, The Tough Kick in the Nuts: What I’ve Learned from a Life Full of Terrible Decisions, revealing that the therapist advised him that the first step to recovery was abstinence – and that didn’t include masturbation.
Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, admits that his first attempt ended after a few weeks, but then he made himself some time.
“I didn’t ejaculate, period, throughout 2014,” only Page Six says. “Actually, I’m sorry, it’s been a year and three months. It was about 15 months, 431 days that I went [without ejaculating]. And while it was happening, I believed I had to be able to do it for myself. “
The 48-year-old comedian is now engaged to stylist Lux Wright and started sex addiction therapy before they met.
“As I approached the age of 40, I thought I was on a path that didn’t lead to true happiness,” she says. “And I agreed with the idea that future happiness depends on my ability to be in a healthy relationship.
“And I have decided to become the man the love of my life deserves, admitting that I have yet to meet the love of my life and that if I were to meet the perfect person, I would be utterly useless to her, unless I have to work on becoming the right person. So you know, that’s how it was.
Glover admits that it was not an easy or fast journey, but something very important.
“I’ve been working on this for a long time and I couldn’t be more thankful,” he adds.
The YouTube star also expresses remorse over his past behavior.
“It was a reprehensible idea to just take advantage of people and throw them out,” he says.
Steve-O will be signing copies of his latest book on Barnes & Noble in Union Square on Thursday, September 29.
