Charles Watts, the famous drummer of the Rolling stones band was passed away on 24th August 2021 at the age of 80. This sad demise news was confirmed by his publicist, Bernard Doherty and he wrote a sad note that “Charlie was a great husband, father, grandfather and greatest drummer of his time as the member of Rolling Stones, he left us on 24 August 2021. We hope and pray to God will give his family, wife Shirley, daughter Seraphina Watts the strength to bear this pain. May his soul rest in peace. Charles Watts was born to parents Charles Richard Watts who is a lorry driver and mother Lillian Charlotte on 2nd June 1941 in Bloomsbury, London, England.
Career
He studied as a graphic artist and worked as a graphic designer for an advertising company. Charles developed an interest in playing drums at a young age. He played drums in the clubs and pubs occasionally. Then he developed an interest in Jazz and joined the band Blues Incorporated. After that, he starts playing drums in London’s rhythm and blues clubs, where he met with bandmember Jagger, Richards, and Brian Jones of Rolling stones. In January 1963 he joined the band Rolling stone and remained with them till his last breath.
Marriage and children of Charlie Watts
Charles met his wife Shirley Ann Shepherd before the band became successful, and the couple tied the knot on On 14 October 1964. The duo has a daughter named Seraphina, she was born in March of 1968. Watts and Shirley were blessed with a granddaughter named Charlotte. The family is very close to each other. Shirley was Watts’s greatest supporter, soulmate, encourager till his last breath. Watts died in the London Hospital with his whole family around him.
