Charlie Sheen is settling an HIV lawsuit in 2017 for 120,000
I guess he chose settling over winning.
Charlie Sheen has resolved a lawsuit filed by her ex-husband where she claimed the actor had deliberately exposed her to HIV, on TMZ. She reportedly received $ 120,000 in the contract.
The plaintiff, known on record as Jane Doe, claimed in a preliminary report in June 2017 that she met Sheen in September 2015 and began having sexual relations shortly thereafter.
Reportedly, he initially used a condom, but from October 26, 2015, switched to unprotected sex with a woman who is referred to in the legislation as a “Russian immigrant”. Before skin-to-skin contact, he reassured her that he was “okay” when she asked him if he had any sexually transmitted diseases.
However, after this meeting, he confessed to her that she was in fact HIV positive – something he had known since 2011 – and allegedly gave her pills to protect her from contracting the virus.
Reportedly, she began looking for further prophylaxis in an emergency clinic before confronting him with his actions a few days later. In the argument, he allegedly described himself as “noble” for informing her of his HIV status, adding that he did not tell her prior to having unprotected sex as it was “none of her f-king of interest.”
He allegedly continued to complain that antivirals were not needed and were part of the “convenient rumors of the medical community.”
The entire alleged incident happened just weeks before the Two and a Half star publicly disclosed that he contracted the disease when he revealed his HIV status to Matt Lauer on the Today show in November 2015.
This lawsuit was not the first to be brought against Sheen, claiming he had knowingly exposed his ex-sexual partner to HIV, among many other abusive behavior in the context of his romantic entanglements.
In December 2015, Sheen’s ex-fiancée Scottine Ross filed another lawsuit claiming that the actor had committed assault and beatings against her during their relationship – detailing the lawsuit. some horrific cases of his alleged treatment of her – all except that he did not disclose his HIV status to a model and pornographic actress who was 24 years old at the beginning of their roughly one-year relationship.
Finally, in 2016, it was revealed that Sheen had knowingly exposed at least 25 sexual partners to HIV without informing them that he was carrying the virus, arguing that he had not had unprotected sex with them.
