Cher performs “If I Could Turn Back Time” at the amfAR Gala in Cannes in a bodysuit inspired by her 1989 music video

Cher took the lyrics to her hit “If I Could Turn Back Time” literally while attending the 2024 amfAR Gala in Cannes on Thursday night, wearing a bedazzled bodysuit and leather jacket inspired by her bold look in the 1989 song music video.

The pop legend (78) looked several dozen years younger than she actually was in a cheeky leotard with cutouts when she went on stage in Cap d’Antibes, France.

“This is not my first rodeo,” the pop goddess captioned photos of her outfit on Instagram.

Fans were thrilled with the fashionable reboot — just like this one X commented (formerly known as Twitter): “I remember when “If I Could Turn Back Time” came out and she wore a similar outfit in the music video. They tried to ban it from daytime MTV because it was “too revealing.” Lots of laughs!”

This isn’t the only retro look the Grammy winner has sported recently; at the Los Angeles premiere of “Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion” earlier this month, she rocked a similar sheer-panel jumpsuit designed by the film’s subject, her longtime friend and fashion collaborator.

At Thursday’s gala, Cher walked the red carpet with boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards ahead of her headline-making performance, wearing a figure-hugging gown with a fitted fur jacket and embellished fingerless gloves.
