September 2 Ciara and husband Russell Wilson were spotted at the US Open sitting in a competitor Serena Williamsat Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Along with other fans, including a host of other celebrities, the pair cheered on the tennis star as she faced off against Ayla Tomlyanovych. As a result, Serena lost the match of the third round, which is probably the final in her career.

A day later Ciara tweeted to her longtime friend: “@SerenaWilliams, Thank you for the constant inspiration you’ve given us all! It has been a blessing to be a part of your incredible journey! Goat, Icon, Best Competitor, THE Blue Print and Best Mom! We love you very much!”
