Cookbook author Jenny Mollen admits that she shouldn’t be in the kitchen
Jenny Mollen is amazed that she has written a cookbook.
“I’m not a cook, and that’s what I tell everyone,” said the 43-year-old actress Page Six in a new interview.
“I was dyslexic, anorexic, and studied theater. I’m left-handed, I’m a Gemini … I shouldn’t be in the kitchen! “
Mollen told us about her new cookbook, Dictator Lunches, which includes recipes and suggestions for packing a fun and nutritious lunch box for kids.
Its genesis comes from Mollen @dyktatorlunches Instagram accountwhere she showed observers what she was doing for her eldest son’s school lunch each day. She also revealed the ones he liked – and the ones he considered inedible.
Mollen has two sons, 8-year-old Sid and 4-year-old Lazlo, with husband Jason Biggs.
“The book started as me in a bathrobe, rummaging in the kitchen, in the fridge, wondering what I would do for lunch the next morning [for Sid]”She explained.
“And I realized early on that the power dynamics when I’m with him is completely different than when I’m not there. So [school] Lunch was just the perfect platform for me to really challenge him on. [Whereas] at home, he’ll just throw it in my face or refuse to eat.
The author of “City of Likes” promises that her rules are not difficult.
“If I can do it, you can too,” she told us. “It just takes … a little, I don’t know.” It’s not even patience because it’s fucking fast. All you need to do is be creative. “
Mollen admits that when something comes back intact, it can sometimes feel like “big fucking”. However, he tries not to take it personally.
“It doesn’t bother me because I know I’m still winning just because they have to see it. For me, it’s really just an exhibition, ”she explained.
“Recently, [the kids] I started eating like a lettuce leaf at home. The Leaf of Rome! So I’m getting there. I make progress”.
But it looks like her kids can do something too expensive progress.
“Sid recently discovered fries with truffles that I wouldn’t encourage anyone to do. It’s just expensive, ”she said.
“I am impressed that she eats something that resembles the umami flavor. But on the other hand, I’m really nervous because I don’t buy that kid fucking truffle all the time.
Mollen is currently on tour promoting the book and sharing tips on how to lure the most picky little dictators.
