Criss Angel feared Ginuwine “had a stroke” during a failed stunt
Criss Angel admitted that “the heart was in his mouth” the moment he realized something was wrong with Ginuwine while rehearsing a magic stunt.
“I didn’t know what the hell was going on until we caught him” – illusionist Daily Mail said in an interview published on Monday.
“You just never know. I was worried if he had a stroke or a heart attack. Fortunately, it all worked out. “
Pony singer was attending rehearsals for The CW’s Magic With the Stars earlier this month, when his underwater stunt knocked him out.
Video footage showed Ginuwine holding her breath underwater in a glass case before slamming her sides to signal her concern.
Angel and the show’s staff immediately worked to remove Ginuwine from the box. As soon as he was released, the R&B star, whose real name is Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, passed out and was taken by paramedics to recover.
“When the video leaked, I was shocked at how much it spread,” said the magician in a new interview. “Honestly, it has shown the world that there is real danger in doing a stunt. Ginuwine was fine thanks to the security protocols we implemented. “
Ginuwine, 52, appeared on the show to overcome his fear of holding his breath underwater. Angel said he advised the musician to focus on the techniques practiced, but during this rehearsal he “struggled” and eventually “darkened”.
“He told me the last thing he remembered was being in the water, and the next thing he would talk to me outside of the box,” said Angel. “He wasn’t aware of what happened.”
Angel, 54, admitted getting excited when Ginuwine asked to perform the stunt again as he fully recovered.
“He achieved so much in his training, but it was a big step backwards, but this man had exceptional motivation and determination to achieve something,” said Angel, adding that Ginuwine “achieved it.”
“It’s hard to put into words the joy of this moment,” he said. “The release and release of this emotion ran down our eyes in the form of tears. He was crying too.
