Danielle Monae slams Nickelodeon for sexualizing Victorious

Daniella Monet shares new details about his experience on set Victorious.

From 2010 to 2013, the actress played Trina Vega in the hit Nickelodeon series. But while the cast provided plenty of laughs on screen, Danielle reflected on the frustrations she had to deal with off-screen, including the wardrobe she recalled Business Insider as “age-inappropriate”, noting that she “wouldn’t even wear any of this today as an adult”.

The 33-year-old also shared that she approached Nickelodeon about a scene in which she ate a pickle while wearing lip gloss. Daniella told Business Insider that she raised concerns with the network that she thought the scene was too sexual to air. However, the episode with the scene completely saved was eventually released.

And at the same time, Daniella noted that most of the scenes in Victorious were “very computer, funny, stupid, friendly, cold”, she wishes some moments were different.
