Dave Grohl broke down in tears at a concert in honor of Taylor Hawkins

Emotional Dave Grohl led a star-studded tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at the group’s first concert after his death.

The singer kicked off a live benefit concert on September 3, standing on stage with her bandmates to greet the crowd at a packed Wembley Stadium in London as they chanted, “Taylor, Taylor!”

His voice wavers, Grohl told them“Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to celebrate the life, music and love of our dear friend, our bandmate, our brother, Taylor Hawkins. For those of you who knew him personally, you know that no one else could make you smile, or laugh, or dance, or sing like he did. And for those of you who admired him from afar, I’m sure you all felt the same way.”

The Foo Fighters performed many of their hits at the show. During the performance of the song “Times Like These” Dave was overcome with emotionpausing for a few seconds to wipe away the tears and take a few breaths before continuing the song.
