Denise Richards and husband Aaron Phypers’ car was shot at in a traffic incident Monday in Los Angeles, but the couple are fine, Page Six can confirm.
Phypers was driving the 51-year-old actress to a film studio when a man following them became annoyed that they were having trouble finding a seat. TMZ reported Tuesday.
The store claimed that Phypers allowed an upset driver who was allegedly yelling at them as he tried to squeeze in front of their car to overtake them.
Then the driver allegedly fired at Phypers and Richards’ vehicle, striking the rear on the driver’s side.
TMZ obtained a photo of a bullet hole in a pair’s gray Shelby.
While no one was physically harmed, an outlet reported that Richards was “nervous” and cried hysterically when she appeared on the set of her upcoming film, Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace.
Her representative had no comment when contacted by Page Six.
According to TMZ, someone from the production called 9-1-1. It is unclear at this time if a police report has been filed.
The outlet noted that Phypers, 50, was staying with an alumnus of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she was “surviving” and “working 12 hours a day.”
After filming was over, an off-duty police officer reportedly led the jittery couple out of the parking lot and back onto the highway.
According to IMDb“Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace” follows the life of an Iraq war veteran who receives a call from a higher power and embarks on a mission to stop a fallen angel from recruiting an army of the dead to take over the world.
Richards is also in production for another film scheduled for release in 2023, “A Walking Miracle.”
Neither she nor Phypers spoke publicly about the incident.
