Despite claims, Stephen Belafonte denies molesting ex Mel B

Stephen Belafonte plans to meet Mel B in court.

The film producer sat down with Page Six exclusively on Wednesday after filing a $5 million defamation lawsuit against the pop star, whose real name is Melanie Brown, and vehemently denied ever being violent with his ex-wife, despite her years-long claims of violence home.

“Never, not once. We’ve never had a physical argument. We’ve never had anything like it,” Belafonte insisted, “and to think I’m this monster… I’m a fool.”

The “Thank You for Smoking” producer said his father abused his mother, which made him a more loving father to his and Brown’s 12-year-old daughter, Madison, of whom he has full custody.

“That’s why I am the way I am as a father. I don’t believe in it,” he told us, “and I’m totally, totally behind whoever does it for them; get the maximum rank [punishment for] whatever they did.”

Belafonte, 49, also pleaded with the 49-year-old Spice Girl not to “try to get out of this” as she seeks a jury trial.

“Please don’t try to say, ‘Oh, he’s abusive and the judicial system will be against me.’ Go to court and show the world your evidence,” he said, turning to Brown.

“Don’t try to settle down. Please bring evidence. Come to court and show the world that everything you said, these thousands of lies, you will have to back them all up,” he continued.

“See you in court.”

The director and producer, who said in his lawsuit that the former “America’s Got Talent” judge suffered from serious substance abuse problems throughout their marriage, admitted he didn’t know whether she was still using drugs or alcohol, but alleged that she would try to hit or “threw things at him” when she was drunk.

Brown has not commented on Belafonte’s allegations.

Although Belafonte is suing the “Wannabe” singer for a seven-figure sum plus other damages, he told us he plans to donate his entire winnings – minus legal fees – to battered women’s shelters in the UK and US.

Brown filed for divorce from Belafonte in 2017, after almost a decade of marriage. The divorce started out amicable but quickly turned acrimonious when the “Spice World” actress accused him of sexual harassment and abuse.

Brown was granted a restraining order, but eventually had it withdrawn. The couple finalized their divorce in August 2018, and the “Spice Up Your Life” singer was ordered to pay Belafonte $350,000 in legal fees.
