“Hold me closer” is finally here.

Elton John and Britney Spears have released their long-awaited duo, a remake of the legendary Rocket Man classic “Tiny Dancer”.

A new song that hit streaming service Friday is an euphoric midtempo, complemented by Spears’ signature vocals running through a cool dance beat that is also an interpolation of John’s lesser-known 1992 song “The One”.

The cooperation is already highly appreciated, incl. from Spears attorney Mathew Rosengart.

“After our difficult success in removing her father from his post as conservator and then leaving the conservatory, I was inundated with questions about what Britney would do next,” Rosengart says exclusively on Page Six.

“My answer was simple: ‘For the first time in 13 years, it’s only one person and only one person: Britney.’ It should come as no surprise that her first foray is a great success, continues the former federal prosecutor. “As I said, Britney is a brilliant artist and iconic person. She’s been through a lot. Regardless of what he chooses next, if at all, I’m very proud of her.

“Hold Me Closer” is Spears’ first official single since Slumber Party, which was released on her 2016 album “Glory”.

The pop princess band re-released “Glory” in 2020 as it strikes over its conservatory, from which it was fired in 2021 after describing it as “offensive.”

The exclusive edition of “Glory” featured three bonus tracks: “Mood Ring”, “Swimming in the Stars” and “Matches” featuring Backstreet Boys, neither of which were adequately treated as singles such as music videos or a radio promotion.

Meanwhile, the original version of “Tiny Dancer” opened John’s 1971 album “Madman Across the Water” and was released as a single a year later.

While it did not achieve immediate commercial success at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, the six-minute piano ballad became a staple in John’s catalog and live concerts over the years. It also deserved a place Rolling Stone’s “Top 500 Songs of All Time” list at number 47.

Page Six revealed in July news that 75-year-old John and 40-year-old Spears had secretly recorded “Hold Me Closer” with Andrew Watt, producer of such hits as “Havana” by Camila Cabello, “Midnight Sky” by Miley Cyrus and Justin. Bieber’s “Peaches”.

“It was Elton’s idea and Britney is a huge fan,” a source from the music industry told us then, teasing that John’s band was already calling it “Summer’s Song.”

Spears said Wednesday she was feeling “quite overwhelmed” before releasing her return tune.

“It’s fucking cool that I’m singing with one of the most classic men of our time … @eltonofficial 🚀 !!!!” she wrote on Twitteradding, “It’s a big deal for me !!!”

Although the career of the singer “Toxic” has been going on since 2019 at hiatus, it still makes it clear that she is thinking about returning to music.

Recently, Spears – who is also working on a diary – sang a harsh Instagram rendition of her 1998 debut single “… Baby One More Time” with the caption: “I haven’t shared my voice in a very long time … maybe too long.”
