On October 30, 2021, Khamzat Chimaev and Li faced off at UFC 267. He lost the fight after being naked and choked to the point of unconsciousness in the opening round.

On July 16, 2022, Li and Muslim Salikhov faced off at UFC on ABC 3. In the second round, he defeated his opponent by TKO. With this win, he was awarded the Performance of the Night Bonus.

Tony Ferguson and Li were scheduled to face off at UFC 279 on September 10, 2022. However, due to Khamzat Chimaev’s underweight, Jingliang will now face Daniel Rodriguez and not Kevin Holland as originally planned.
