On October 30, 2021, Khamzat Chimaev and Li fought at UFC 267. He lost the fight after being choked to the point of unconsciousness in the opening round.
On July 16, 2022, Li and Muslim Salikhov fought at UFC on ABC 3. In the second round, he defeated his opponent by TKO. For this achievement, he was awarded the Performance of the Night Bonus.
Tony Ferguson and Li are scheduled to square off on September 10, 2022, at UFC 279 However, as a result of Khamzat Chimaev’s underweight status, Jingliang will now compete against Daniel Rodriguez rather than Kevin Holland as originally planned.
