Three new Trustees for the Victoria and Albert Museums have been appointed by the Prime Minister through the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Zewditu Gebreyohanes is one of them (DCMS).
There are three new candidates, namely Rosalind Polly Blakesley, Rusty Elvidge and right wing broadcaster Zewditu.
Rosalinda is a professor of Russian and European art at the University of Cambridge, while Rusty is a managing director at Credit Suisse, where he advises wealthy business owners.
In accordance with the Public Appointments Governance Code, Gebreyohanes and the other two Trustees were selected by the UK Government through a fair and competitive selection process.
The Commissioner for Public Appointments controls the selection process and competition for positions as Trustee of the V&A Museum, according to The Art Newspaper.
Who is Zewditu Gebreyohanes? A graduate of Kings College as Trustee of the V&A Museum by the UK Government
Zewditu Gebreyohanes, of Ethiopian and English descent, has embraced conservatism from the beginning of her academic career. Her Ethiopian father and English mother encouraged her to turn her pastime into a career.
She is said to have become close to the famous Sir Roger Vernon Scruton, a British philosopher and author who specialized in promoting traditionalist conservative beliefs, due to her adherence to traditional values and principles.
The Crisis of Freedoms in the West conference served as inspiration for Zewditu to pursue a career in conservatism as the former head of History Matters at the right-wing Policy Exchange.
Right-wing broadcaster Zewditu claimed Kew Gardens violated its statutory goals while she worked for Policy Exchange. Her nomination as Trustee was recently confirmed online by Restore Trust.
Zewditu Gebreyohane’s age – How old is the V&A Museum keeper?
Zewditu Gebreyohanes is a member of the Anglo-Euthopian cultural group and is 23 years old according to Wiki Data. She was welcomed into the world in 1999 by her British mother, Flora Eleanor Rhalou Griffin, and her Ethiopian father, Mike Hailu Gebreyohanes.
She earned a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from King’s College London in 2020 and started a position as a research intern at Policy Exchange.
The young conservative thinker from Anglo-Ethiopia had the chance to work with Sir Scruton. Zewditu has written on subjects such as “the decolonization of the botanical collections at Kew undermines their fundamental aim” in his works.
The anti-wake activist, who now serves as a trustee at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, will do so. Gebreyohanes was appointed by the Prime Minister of the UK Government for a four-year term from 5 September 2022.
According to Barbara Keeley, candidates for public office should be selected based on their qualifications, not how much money they have given to the Conservative Party.
The National Trust denied the allegation, saying it was aware of the government’s appointment of Zewditu Gebreyohanes as Trustee of the V&A. The Trust also stated that she is highly regarded as a close associate and colleague by trustees who are vital to the governance of any organisation.
Salary of Zewditu Gebreyohane as V&A Trustee and net worth
At the Victoria & Albert Museum the position of trustee is unpaid. Necessary travel expenses will be reimbursed to Zewditu Gebreyohane in accordance with the V&A Expense Policy.
As part of her duties as curator of the museum, she is required to attend six board meetings and one annual day off. The Board occasionally covers Zewditu’s travel expenses.
Zewditu is at the beginning of her career and hopes to establish herself as a prominent figure in the conservative movement. According to our estimates, her current net worth is between $100,000 and $200,000.
Gebreyohane makes most of her money from her career as a right-wing commentator and anti-Woke activist. But despite her wealth and her high salary, she decides to live a simple life.
