Fate: The Winx Saga still has a lot of magic up its sleeve.

Season 2 of the Netflix teen drama brings even more magical mischief, and a very important character comes along for the ride.

The second season shows the long-awaited appearance of Flora, played by Paulina Chavezfavorite character from Winx ClubNickelodeon animated series in which Winx saga is based Given this, Flora did not appear in the first season.

Some fans accused the series of whitewashing after the introduction of a new character named Terra, played by Eliot Saltas if replacing the Latin American fairy Flora.

In accepting the role, Chavez knew the expectations were high, especially given what representing Flora meant.

“I actually felt a lot of support,” Chavez exclusively told E! News about joining the series. “Yes, it was nerve-wracking. But many people were excited. I was excited.”

In fact, the online backlash even reached Chavez, who pointed out that she “doesn’t read tweets.”

“But my mom found one and someone tweeted, ‘The girl who plays Flora is actually Latina, we won,'” she continued. “I remember when I first saw it, I started to cry a little bit because it means something to people, it really means something to the Latino community.”
