Former Governor Andrew Cuomo helps keep the 1969 Corvette in the Hamptons
Former Governor Andrew Cuomo has been seen assisting a driver in a 1969 yellow Corvette captured in the Hamptons, Page Six sources only say.
The former politician has a history with muscle cars himself and has even reportedly worked as a tow truck driver while attending law school.
Spies told us a yellow classic sports car was stopped on Route 114 in East Hampton.
“The car is stuck on the side of the road and [Cuomo] I jumped over it with cables, ”said one of the sources. “When the passenger asked who he was, he entered a pseudonym.”
Later that day, Andrew and his brother, Chris Cuomo, were spotted aboard Chris’s boat in Sag Harbor, “eating sandwiches and tinkering with the engine,” the source said.
Andrew, 64, is rumored to be owned a “deep blue” Corvette from 1975.including classic cars, and gifted Chris Corvette for his 21st birthday. Their father, the late Governor Mario Cuomo, told the local Buffalo store: “Andrew gave Christopher a Corvette with the note:” Be good to her, she was good to me. ” Andrew reportedly bought this car in 1978.
He is known as the main mad car and has also restored cars including the 1969 Cougar, the 1973 Camaro and the 1969 Fiat 128, among others.
A 2020 New York Times report said Andrew has “a well-documented propensity to helping drivers in distress: He pushed cars out of snowdrifts, comforted the victims of accidents and even hooked the immobilized vehicle on the tow cable. ” He reportedly also ordered the state police to help a van that had been overturned on a BQE.
Meanwhile, 52-year-old Chris was once parked in his own 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible in Southampton.
The former CNN presenter recently launched a new show on NewsNation, but we announced that Andrew will not be one of his guests – following controversial brothers meetings on CNN in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After leaving office amid controversy, Andrew reappeared in public, was seen having dinner with Mayor Eric Adams and being at the Hamptons with Billy Joel, among others.
He resigned in August last year damning report on sexual harassment from the New York Attorney General’s Office, which he denied. Subsequently, the upstate district attorney’s office dropped any criminal investigation. Last summer we reported that Cuomo was holed up in the Hamptons after leaving the Executive Residence.
