Former Nick star Josh Peck calls sobriety “the cornerstone of my life”
Josh Peck says the sobriety was “wonderful” and “the foundation that really anchored me”.
The 35-year-old star “Drake & Josh” developed a drug and alcohol problem after losing 127 pounds and began rehab in 2008.
“I am fortunate enough to recover almost 14 years ago with the 12 steps program, and it’s something I do regularly to this day,” Page Six said in a recent interview. “It gives me a lot of structure in my life. It is really the basis of my life and all these wonderful things have been built from there. “
The Manhattan-born actor who wrote about his fight against drugs and alcohol in Happy People Are Annoying explained that sobriety “also brought me to the level of spirituality and how to embrace stoicism and ancient truths. It gave me a foundation that really anchored me.
Peck jokingly added that his mother – who raised him herself – and his wife Paige O’Brien “are making sure I don’t go outside the box.”
