Gabby Windey said she and Erich Schwer broke up because they just “weren’t the best partners for each other.”
On Monday’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” the former “Bachelorette” told frankly why she and Schwer decided to diverge only a few months after their engagement on the ABC series.
“The end of our relationship came because we were not fully in sync with each other about our shared goals or just the way we approach life,” she explained to her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy.
“I am so grateful that my dad and stepmother embrace so many of the core values and values that I look for in a relationship, such as never blaming,” she continued, adding that she wanted to “redirect this kind of eternal love” to a couple’s dance for the week.
A 31-year-old ICU nurse and 29-year-old real estate analyst announced she had quit her job earlier this month after Windey felt that they were “not leveled and not on the same page.”
“Gabby hoped they could give each other space and work it out, but ultimately decided they had no future” – Initiate said E! News.
The news came after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Windey was not wearing an engagement ring while competing on the Disney + series.
However, the reality show star dismissed the rumors at the time, saying she and Schwer were “supporting each other from afar.”
“I think life is very busy for both of us right now, so I understand [fans’] caring, she said Fox News Digital about Schwer who missed one of her performances. “We’re just, you know, moving forward with each of our individual interests and supporting each other from afar.”
Although the pair went their separate ways, Schwer continued to support his ex-fiancé on social media, begging fans to vote for Windey weekly.
Despite the amicable breakup, there was trouble in the lovebirds’ paradise.
In early September, a photo of Schwer with black makeup and a school vintage afro wig reappeared on social media.
While he profusely apologies for his “insensitive” costume, less than a month later, he faced more criticism as an ex-girlfriend claimed that he joined the show to help his career – rather than find love.
Even during a public inspection, Windey stood next to Schwer, saying the two had to “grow up as a couple and learn from” their mistakes.
