Grimes does I did “something crazy!”

The 34-year-old singer shared a photo of her bandaged face on Twitter on Saturday after she previously told fans that she wanted to go under the knife for elven ear surgery.

Fans swiftly proceeded to the reply section in her post to ask for confirmation as to whether or not she actually went through the procedure.

“Hope she got them, I’d be so excited!” one person wrote and another added, “WERE YOU EARS ???”

“Oh, who your surgeon looks amazing,” interjected a third.

Others made fun of the selfie, writing things like “Turned into an egg?”, “Does she want 4 comments?” and “mother, what have you done …?”

Based on a series of tweets from mid-August, Grimes (real name: Claire Elise Boucher) seemed to be at least a little serious about the operation. The operation involves surgically sculpting the patient’s cartilage into a pointed shape commonly associated with elves throughout the fantasy genre.

She initially raised the idea on August 15, asking for the insight of observers who had undergone a bizarre transformation.

“Also, has anyone done the elf ear modifications with good results? I am afraid that the ear cartilage has problems with healing, ”she wrote on Twitter at the time. “Especially as a musician, this operation seems risky, but I’ve wanted it all my life. Curious about people’s experiences! “

The next day her ex Elon Musk fell into the thread with a little bit of literal spite.

“The disadvantages of elf ear surgery probably outweigh the advantages,” argued the 51-year-old CEO of SpaceX.

Grimes chimed back in wistfully. – Tbh, that sounds like a job for crispr. It’s sad to be born a few generations too early 🧝🏻‍♀️😪🧝🏻‍♀️ ” she wrote on Twitterreferring to the revolutionary CRISPR biotechnology for gene editing which is able to strategically modify the genetic code of a human individual.

Later, responding to Fan tweet showcasing a series of digital avatars with elven ears in her image on August 17, Grimes wrote“Wow, I love the damn ones.”
