What is it, renewal or cancellation?
In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the lore and concepts introduced in Night City are expanded and evolved into a high-octane, pounding animated series consisting of ten episodes. Edgerunners is a lot of fun from start to finish thanks to its extensive character development, copious bloodshed and graphic violence.
After watching all ten episodes, you might be curious about the status of this show and whether or not it will continue. We are aware of that
What exactly is the plot of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
The first few episodes do a good job of setting the stage for the rest of the show by introducing us to a homeless youth named David. His mother, Gloria, worked excessive hours, ultimately leading to her untimely death in a car accident. Struggling with losses and a victim of bullying, David decides to get implants to improve his looks. However, these implants were taken from a schizophrenic man named James Norris, and there is a risk that David could take on some of James’ psychotic traits because he has them.
But before all of this happens, David is introduced to Lucy and the rest of her crew. They want David to have the implant put in himself, but David is willing to make a deal with them and has decided to work job at a time to pay them back. The television show transitions into a more episodic framework as the Maine monster watches over the gang and David learns the ropes, is coached by Lucy, and gets to know the rest of the group while taking out targets along the way. After that, during the final mission, which spans a couple of explosive, high-action episodes, it all comes together to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion.

Has Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Production Begun?
At the time of writing, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners television show had not yet been picked up for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s material, that may very well change if things go well for Netflix, which is entirely possible.
Before deciding whether or not to continue airing a show, Netflix usually considers a number of data, such as: There are some shows, like Squid Game and Bridgerton and Irregulars, that Netflix is pretty quick to give its verdict on the show’s future. It sometimes takes Netflix several months to come to a conclusion about a series’ future.
Up until this point, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has met with a very positive response from critics, who have given the series mostly positive reviews. Audience response has been really positive, which is always a welcome development.
After considering everything, we have come to the conclusion that the TV series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will not order a second season. But why? There’s not much room for plot development now unless the focus shifts to Lucy and she hatches a plan to get revenge. Otherwise there isn’t much room for the story. However, given that most of the core cast has either been eliminated or given a significant amount of resolution, this seems more like a one-shot deal.
As new information becomes available to us over the coming weeks and months, we will ensure that this section returns and is revised with the latest and most accurate information.
Here’s what we know about season two now
Granted, Netflix hasn’t greenlit a second season yet, there’s very little information about it at this time. The ending, as just noted, doesn’t really leave room for expansion unless the characters are changed and we follow different people from Night City, which of course is always an option. Other than that, it doesn’t really leave much room for growth. Given the main cast we meet in this episode, it seems pretty unlikely that the show will be renewed for another season.
It is possible that the contract will be renewed without our knowledge, in which case we will have to consume our words. A second season would be absolutely desirable, but as mentioned before, we assume this won’t be renewed for a second season. However, if more details become available in the future, we will make it a priority to update this website.
