Jenna Bush Hager was unable to convince fellow “Today” co-hosts Hody Kotb and Savannah Guthrie to go commandos.
After the ex-first daughter is hilarious she confessed that she was ditching her underwear prevents the formation of panty lines, Kotb told Us Weekly that there are no plans to follow in her footsteps.
“[It’s] disgusting,” Kotb, 58, said on Friday. “First of all, I’ll take the panty lines, okay? I know that’s what he’s worried about. What the hell?”
“I don’t care. Who’s looking at our butts? Guthrie, 50, added.
Kotb said on Wednesday’s “Today With Hoda & Jenna” that she was “surprised” to learn that Bush Hager “never wears underwear” after the couple had to share a wardrobe.
After revealing herself to a live studio audience – and millions of viewers at home – the 40-year-old tried to defend herself by saying: “It makes the figure prettier!”
“I also think you don’t need to pack so much. It has many advantages!” she said, adding that the trick “makes life easier.”
Despite her explanations, Bush Hager was unable to convince Kotb or Guthrie, who now has to be a bit more picky about renting his clothes.
“You know what? Enough [because] she also borrows my clothes every day and then gives them back straight away,” said Guthrie. “Yes, no underwear. I found out about it too late!”
Although Bush Hager has admitted that she often “steals” Guthrie’s outfits, she has promised to “put on underwear” the next time she plans to borrow her friends’ clothes.
While Kotb and Guthrie aren’t arguing with Bush Hager over a panty line, the two women are focused on getting ready to co-host the 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
After being asked what they were grateful for this holiday season, Kotb spoke about setting an example for her two daughters, Hope and Haley.
“I’m just grateful for the freshness of trying something new and the courage to try something new and I want to teach my girls to take risks, roll the dice [and] go for it,” she said. “For example, you know, you have one right around the sun. That’s it. So while we’re here, let’s do this.
While Guthrie added that she was very grateful for the “promise of renewal” and the opportunity to “start anew every day”.
