Holly Bailey explains why she felt “pressure” portraying Ariel

In an exclusive interview with E! News at the D23 Expo, Holly shares her impressions of the role of Ariel in the new version of Disney’s little mermaid. Visibly emotional, the singer said: “I am very excited about this film. You know, it’s so surreal to be here today. I’m just a fan of all the other projects and the fact that I get to be a part of something like this. It’s amazing.”

The film has already created quite a buzz ahead of its release next year, and she’s understandably feeling the pressure mounting. “I definitely think that because I love this movie so much and have cherished it since I was a kid, I put pressure on myself,” she shared. “Just because I want to convey all the feelings that I saw when I was a little girl.”

Now this little girl, who has grown up, turned into a Little Mermaid, saying that she gave her all. Holly noted, “Knowing that I went all out and gave 110 percent in this whole movie makes me really proud of myself.”

And she should be after seeing the first teaser for the film at a Disney event. Her adorable reaction was all over us: As the 22-year-old said: “Wow, that’s really good.”
