Early years

Willoughby was born in Brighton, East Sussex. She is the younger of two daughters of Brian Willoughby, a sales manager for a double glazing company, and Linda Willoughby (née Fleming), a former flight attendant.

She attended the independent Burgess Hill Girls school in West Sussex and The College of Richard Collyer in Horsham for her education.

In 1995, Willoughby was 14 years old when talent scouts saw her on The Clothes Show Live. They signed her to the Storm Management modeling agency.
