Homer Laffoon asks for an “extension of power” over Anne Heche’s estate
Anne Heche’s eldest son, Homer Laffoon, is asking the court for greater access to the estate and other assets of the deceased actress.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six on Friday, Laffoon has applied to extend his powers as special administrator of his mother’s estate to “take possession of money or other property.”
The 20-year-old argued that “rights are necessary before the next court hearing” because “tangible personal property” belonging to the property is still “in [Heche’s] apartment.”
Laffoon argued that said personal property “should be moved out of the apartment as soon as possible to avoid additional fees, costs and possible loss of property.”
He recently claimed his mother died with $ 400,000 in her bank account.
In addition, Laffoon told the court that he “knows about the numerous checks drawn on [Heche] which must be negotiated, endorsed and deposited in a bank account in the name of the inheritance in a timely manner so that checks are not voided. “
According to Laffoon, expanding his authority would allow him to “take possession of all real and personal property” of his mother’s property and save him from “damage, waste and harm.”
It would also enable him to “collect all claims, rent and other income belonging to the property”; “Initiate and maintain or defend lawsuits and other legal proceedings;” and “request and receive copies [the estate’s] financial books. “
Moreover, Laffoon argued that the required authority would allow him to “manage, exercise and enforce the rights and interests” regarding Heche’s upcoming book “Call Me Anne.”
He also asks for a $ 800,000 bail.
Homer, whom Heche shared with ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, had fought legally with the actress’s ex-boyfriend James Tupper since her death on August 12 in a fiery car accident.
Homer and James, who together with Heche were the parents of Atlas Tupper’s 13-year-old son, are fighting for control of the estate as well as the title of ad litem probation officer for Atlas.
James was denied custody earlier this month.
