House of the Dragon lost one of its leaders.
August 31 co-author of the show Miguel Sapochnyk announced his departure from the HBO series after only two episodes.
“Working within the limits OBTAINED universe over the past few years has been an honor and a privilege, Sapochnik said in a statement obtained by E! News, – especially to spend the last two with an amazing cast and crew House of the Dragon. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved in season one and delighted by the enthusiastic response from our audience.”
According to HBO, House of the Dragon co-creator Ryan Condalwho also co-created USA Network’s Colonynext season will be the only showrunner of the series. Alan TaylorEmmy winner Game of Thrones veteran, will join the already announced second season as executive producer and director of several episodes.
“It was incredibly difficult to make the decision to move on, but I know that this is the right choice for me, personally and professionally,” explained Sapochnyk. “However, I was deeply comforted to learn that Alan would be joining the series. I have known and respected him for a long time, and I believe that this precious series could not be in better hands.”
