How Chris Pratt Helped Bryce Dallas Howard Fight for Equal Pay

Bryce Dallas Howard reflects on a time when she was at a disadvantage.

In 2018 reports appeared what Jurassic World the actress was paid $8 million for her lead role in the film, which was reportedly $2 million less than her co-star, Chris Pratt. Four years later, Bryce is speaking openly about the pay gap, saying the gap was even greater than originally reported.

“The reports were so interesting because I was paid a lot less than the reports said, a lot less,” the actress said. Insider in an interview published on August 15. “When I started negotiations about Jurassic, it was 2014 and it was a different world and I was at a huge disadvantage. And unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, so your deals are done.”

Even though her deal for a three-film franchise was already set in stone, other lucrative deals remained, such as affiliate games and merchandise, and that’s where Bryce’s partner, Chris, came into play.
